OUR APPROACH

The text comes first.
The world helps us look.

Gospel Worlds creates places to explore while you read the Gospels. A convincing image can make an uncertain detail feel certain. Our source labels help keep that distinction clear.

01

In the passage

A detail stated in the selected account, linked to its verses. We preserve the wording of the World English Bible Classic and identify translator notes.

In the passage
02

Historical context

Archaeology or scholarship that helps explain the setting or language. A period artifact can inform a model without proving it is the object described in Scripture.

Historical context
03

Artistic reconstruction

Choices the sources do not establish: exact layout, object placement, appearance, plants, or lighting. These are identified as you explore.

Artistic reconstruction

A setting for reading.

Each experience follows one Gospel account. Related passages are identified when used as context. We do not silently combine different narratives into a single scene.

The environments focus on places and objects. People and angels are omitted, and the passage explains their presence, words, and actions. These are study settings, not claims to recreate every moment exactly.

The site includes desktop walking, guided viewpoints, and complete reading pages. If 3D cannot load, the text and source notes remain available.

OPEN THE SOURCES

Read what informs the scene.

eBible.org · primary text

John 21 · World English Bible Classic

The exact Scripture text used here. Paragraph breaks are adapted for reading; the words are unchanged. Translator footnotes are identified separately.

NET Bible · Biblical Studies Press

John 21:1–14 · translation and study notes

A comparison translation with notes on the lake’s name, the distance from shore, and proposed interpretations of the fish count. Study notes remain interpretations.

Yigal Allon Center · museum collection

The Ancient Boat

The museum dates the Galilee boat to 100 BC–AD 100. It informs regional and period construction, without identifying the boat in John 21.
